Chaophraya, Leeds

This is the original Chaophraya Thai restaurant and is therefore very close to the hearts of owners Martin & Kim. The catalyst for the project was the availability of the former Furniture showroom at ground floor level allowing the potential to more than double the size of the existing first floor restaurant. The client required the incorporation of their Palm Sugar bar operation, sunken seating private dining area and enhanced toilet facilities.

The original first floor & new ground floor areas were linked by an impressive illuminated staircase. The ground floor incorporates the glitzy Palm Sugar bar formed within the entrance area,  a sunken seating private dining area behind a state of the art fish tank screen and white leather booths, whilst the first floor boasts a Thai ‘Tea room’ and a white marble VIP bar with its own dedicated balcony area. The 150 seat restaurant belies its size by careful segregation of areas with a variety of screen designs and subtle changes to finishes and bespoke light fittings.
