St George and Dragon, Wargrave
St George and Dragon fits into the sleepy village of Wargrave perfectly; sat right on the edge of the River Thames the window views out onto the water are breath taking – especially at sunset. The design concept reverts back to the roots of the location, where the particular section of the Thames froze over in 1878 and locals would take to the ice. This is where the inspiration for the frosty colour palette derived, with warm berry and taupe tones flecked through mimicking the sunset.
Keeping the impressive views in mind, JDMA were tasked with creating warmth, improving spatial flow and rejuvenating certain areas to make them desirable places to dine. With the use of patterned fabrics, textured wallpapers mimicking dragon skin, a pool blue bar area and splashes of roaring red to sofas and furniture – it is now a charming, cosy space where customers are spoilt for choice where to reside.
