The Alexandra, Wimbledon

The Sports Bar, Green Room and Lounge Room all had their own identity which JMDA were keen to retain; however repeated finishes have been implemented into each room to combine the spaces. Structural changes were carried out in the Sports Bar to open-up the space and a reconfiguration of the toilets has been carried out to meet the demands of the site.

A fresh and warming colour pallet is featured throughout, with pops of accent colours in  each of the individual spaces. The furniture consisted of a combination of traditional Morris prints and floral plush velvet’s in each of the room with hints of the accent colours throughout. Carefully crafted bespoke booths were a new addition to the Sports Bar to accommodate for larger groups. Existing timber bar fronts and panelling were retained and stripped back to their original beauty. Feature wallpaper and quirky bric a brac pieces with reference to the sport genre were added to give the site a contemporary edge. Young’s are thrilled with JMDA’s transformation of the hearty Wimbledon pub.
