The Willett Arms, Wimborne

Another example of JMDA's work for the Premium Country Pubs brand, the Willett Arms near Wimborne embodies the warmth and comfort of classic country pubs, reimagined with a stylish chic that's not afraid to use bold colours, patterns, and materials.

In approaching the refurbishment of the Willett Arms, JMDA were keen to incorporate a range of materials into the pub’s interior. The pub’s interior subtly makes use of smooth flagstones in the bar area, creating a look that strikes a balance between polished and weathered. The bar lounge’s centrepiece fireplace features complimentary wallpaper reminiscent of woven wicker. Herringbone hardwood flooring in the dining area makes use of light and dark woods, and adds clean and stylish detail to the airy space. The passage into the dining area would be incomplete without the imposing appeal of the impressive back-lit wine cabinet, and like the pub’s minimalist light fittings, this cabinet is accented beautifully by delicate metalwork that reflects the warm tones of the backlighting. The furnishings of the Willett Arms focus on a red, navy and yellow colour scheme, providing some contrast with worn-look patterned fabrics, with noticeable brass tacks adding to the rustic look.
