The Duke’s Head, Billericay

With plenty of original timbers and a sizeable site to work with, JMDA approached the design for the Duke’s Head by focusing on a deep autumnal palette that would accentuate the pub’s traditional charm and prevent the space feeling cold. Steely-toned painted brickwork and textured feature walls ground the range of earthy greens, reds and browns in the upholstery, creating a cohesive and moody scheme. The site work also involved converting a largely unused adjoining barn into a dining space and separate bar, adding covers and helping with the flow of the interior.
