The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge… to the top!

JMDA’s latest challenge featured three peaks, torrential rain, lots of mud and plenty of blistered feet!!

The Yorkshire Three Peak’s was JMDA’s latest team bonding exercise and, although the faces at the end didn’t show it, we secretly think everyone enjoyed it! The challenge consisted of three peaks over 24 miles; Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough with a task time of under 12 hours.

Up for the challenge, the team set off up the biggest (Whernside) at 8am and you can see by everyone’s facial expressions the anticipation was eating away at them! Throughout the day we saw a couple of broken soles (and souls!), swollen hands and plenty of perspiration (and perseverance!).

Despite the weather, the views from the top made it all worth it. A very successful time of 10 hours 40 was achieved by some, with the rest of the team following closely in a time of just over 11 hours. With everyone all safely back at base, the team nestled into the local watering hole and tucked into some hearty pub grub and a ‘few’ beverages, ending the night in the bunk houses on site – premium digs, some may say. It’s safe to say the walking boots are locked away for another year…

JMDA are currently planning their next challenge, any ideas are greatly welcomed!!
